Our Digs
Just because I think it's fun to look back and see how a house starts to melt into a home, I thought I'd share some snapshots of what our home currently looks like (I don't think I've shared much since we've moved in).
We started renting our current, 1950's home at the end of June last year so we've been here for about a year. It's not a place we intend to live in much longer (maybe 6-8 months), but it is perfect for us where we are. Although the storage space is very limited, the 1000 square feet is just the right amount for us. Plus, it keeps us from collecting too much stuff during this season of transition and schooling :)
Before the baby, we switched out the office and bedroom to make room for a nursery. So, if you want, you can go check out the nursery here and the bedroom/office combo over here :)
I'll start with our little living room. Here's what it looked like when we first moved in:

And here's what it looks like now (after pictures were hung, gallery wall made, and coffee table painted)
(ps. I have a hard time getting good lighting in this room!)
Now, let's peek at the kitchen. Here it was before (a very little, but happy 1950's kitchen):
And now (Josh built a table and I painted an old cubby shelf for extra storage):
(real life here!)
(ps. I really want some baskets to help pretty this up. It's definitely more functional than pretty right now!)
If we owned this little house, there are definitely some things I would change (such as replacing the linoleum with something fresh and clean or getting new countertops), but we have still enjoyed prettying it up and making it home!
Happy Monday :)
