Crickets or Commenters?
Sometimes I get an idea in my head and then get a little too ambitious (ignore the fact that I'm using the word "ambitious" as a very nice replacement for the word "impatient").
So, even though I had been thinking about changing my blog name for a while now, I got the itch to do everything right.this.minute and dove in with my eyes squeezed shut and did a blissful (but painful) belly flop.
Since I'm not fancy and I know the basic ropes, I decided to continue to use blogger as my platform. Well, when I changed my domain name from www.homeforhireblog.com to www.nicolejoelle.com, it didn't take long for me to realize that I might have made a mistake.
Apparently, even though I own the Home for Hire domain, blogger now no longer hosts it, so it doesn't currently exist. Just try it :)
So, if you clink on most links in my posts (the ones that refer to my blog), it doesn't redirect you to its current location; it just sends you on your merry way and says, "Ooops!" I'm still trying to figure out how to fix this--so if you know, I'd love your help!!
I hope, if you are reading this, that you'll take some time to peek at the new look and let me know what you think. I'll share more with you in the coming days/weeks about why I choose to move in this direction and my vision for the space!
If you are reading this, I'd love a comment about how you landed on this page. I'm curious! (And hopeful that my feeds and subscriptions are still coming to you!).
ps. remind me to spend a little more time researching before doing something related to technology!
I'd love to connect with you!

It's working for me! I typed in your old blogger URL and it loaded. It didn't redirect though - just loaded the homeforhire one. When I click on links, it uses the new URL though. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteYour new look is great! I got here the same way I used to get to your other blog- just went to my blogger dashboard and saw this on my reading list.
ReplyDeleteI like the new look. I got here through my blogger dashboard as well. (I was very confused at first because I didn't remember following a "Nicole Joelle"....it took me a second to realize it was your new blog name!)
ReplyDeleteLove the new look. I found you in my blogger reader. I also typed in your old blogger URL and it loaded for me too. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, earlier, I had tried to go to your blog and got the error message. I figured you were "working"!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis time, I just came here through the email.
I LOVE how this is coming together!!!!!!
I got here through my email notification of your new entry, and it worked for me! It looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Love the flower logo :)
ReplyDeleteIt loaded just fine in my Google Reader. Just popped up as a new post. In my Subscription List of all the blogs I follow it even has the flowers as an icon, but it does still say the name of the blog is "Home for Hire"...?
Nicole! I just wanted to stop by to say that I LOVE your new name + look. Way to go!!
ReplyDeletep.s. I googled your name and your blog was the first thing to pop up.
