Limeade
While living in Guatemala, I was introduced to one of my favorite drinks--the limeade. We had a lime tree in our yard and it was continuously dropping limes for us to grab up, squeeze out, and make limeade with. To this day (years later), sometimes I just need a limeade!
So, this weekend when I spotted that the limes were on sale, I knew it was the perfect time to make some limeade. Plus, the weather has been hot and sticky in Texas and nothing says "refreshment" like a limeade.
Here's a basic recipe:
2 quarts of water
4 limes
sugar/sweetener to taste
I cut the limes into fourths, squeezed the juice into the water, added a little splenda, and wa-la!
I can't say that it's not a little messy and sticky, but the results are worth it.
Sip up!
Plus, you can't beat a cup of limeade with ice and a pink straw on a sweltering Texas morning!
